Men’s Tennis Face Berkeley Knights
QUEENS, N.Y. – Thursday, April 9, the Vaughn College Warriors men's tennis team faced Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) opponent, Berkeley College (NY), at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Tennis Center. This was the second game of the season for the Warriors, and second straight conference game. The two teams played three doubles matches and six singles matches. The Warriors would score three points in the game, winning one doubles match and two singles matches. The Berkeley College Knights would go on to defeat the Warriors in their second game of the season by a final score of 6-3.
For the second game in a row, Alamine Alami – Binani (Hollis, NY) won his doubles match. He paired up with Tobi Oladeji (Nigeria, Africa) in the number two doubles match to beat Berkeley Knights' number two doubles opponents, Chubak Ulan and Essofi Amine, 8-6. Ahmed Aly (Astoria, NY) and Dashawn Johnson (Astoria, NY) earned the final two points for the Warriors. Aly and Johnson defeated their number five and number six singles opponents.
The Warriors look to pick up their first win of the season when they take on New School on Sunday, April 12. The tennis match is scheduled to be played at the USTA Tennis Center starting at 2 p.m.
