Track & Field Debuts at Knight Invitational
QUEENS, N.Y. – The Vaughn College track & field program officially made history this past weekend, competing for the first time at the Queens College Knight Invitational.
Sophomores Cedric Green and Angel Tejada represented the Phoenix in the program's inaugural meet, marking an important milestone for Vaughn athletics as the college continues to expand its varsity offerings.
Green competed in two events during the meet, highlighted by a 14.32 finish in the 100-meter dash and a 29.83 mark in the 200-meter dash.
Tejada also competed in both sprint events, posting a time of 14.37 in the 100-meter dash and 30.46 in the 200-meter dash.
The meet served as the first official collegiate track & field competition in Vaughn College history and provided valuable experience for the program as it begins building toward future success.
With their first meet now complete, the Phoenix will turn their attention to the Tom Farrell Classic hosted by St. John's University on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
